Q. What type of benefits will I realize when switching over to Blue Marble Oil.
A. The vast majority of users experience an almost complete elimination of obnoxious smoke and fumes being emitted from their engines (on outboards, no more oil slick behind them) (on snowmobiles, no more dirty belly pans). Other benefits seen are substantial gains in fuel and oil economy, more rpm, torque and horsepower, less noise, less vibration, quicker starting, smoother and more stable idling, no more carbon deposits, longer spark plug life, less engine wear and substantial longer engine life.
Q. Will this oil void my warranty?
A. No, most manufacturers for obvious reasons want you to use their oil. They also require that in order to maintain warranty on their engines, that you must use an oil that meets or exceeds a certain testing specification. In most cases, this is an oil that has a "TC-W3" rating on it. Blue Marble has exceeded the much more stringent and demanding "JASO" test specifications, which are generally regarded as being two stages above the "TC-W3 testing specifications. The only way that manufacturers can require that you use their oil to maintain its factory warranty is if they furnish the oil to you free of charge during the warranty period.

L.P. warrants the product against any damages resulting from proper use of our
product."
Q. Can I mix this with my current oil?
A. It is not recommended to do this due to dilution of the Blue Marble Oil and the fact that you probably won't realize the benefits of what you're expecting to. We suggest that you either siphon / drain the majority of your old oil out or run your reservoir down as low as reasonably possible.
( Make sure not to get it so low that you would get air into your oil lines.) Then pour in the Blue Marble to fill accordingly.
Q. I've been using synthetic oils previously, is this going to cause any problems?
A. We've seen many synthetic oils leaving behind what appears to look like a baked on varnish or shellac coating. This is caused primarily from them getting hot, and the base paraffin's in them melting out and flowing through the combustion chamber area. This surface becomes fairly hard to remove, and it will take longer to notice the results with Blue Marble Oil if this is the case. (One suggestion that we make is to purchase a product at your local auto parts store called "STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner" (in a silver bottle), and add to your fuel tank. This will help accelerate the removal of these coatings.
Q. Can I use this as a premix oil?
A. Yes, however, it is recommended that you use up most of your fuel prior to mixing Blue Marble. If you have metal fuel tanks, it is also recommended that you double the normal amount of oil in your fuel for the first tankful, then go back to your normal mix rate.
Q. Can I use this in a brand new engine, or do I have to wait until it is broken in first?
A. Yes, you can.
Q. Will my piston rings still seat properly?
A. Yes, in fact, many customers are reporting less leak down and blow-by when using Blue Marble from the start.
Q. Will Blue Marble Oil work on nickosil or chrome cylinders?
A. Yes it will, but we've seen that most people aren't seeing the results until after about 500 miles or so, whereas the ones with cast iron cylinders are realizing the benefits much sooner.
Q. Why the high cost?
A. Blue Marble is made from a highly refined white food grade oil that meets the Federal Clean Waters Act for no sheen on the water. This oil is fully biodegradable but also costs significantly more than traditional oils. The total fuel and oil savings generally offset the cost of Blue Marble, which is up to a 30% gain.
Q. What kind of rpm / miles per hour gain should I see from using Blue Marble?
A. It will vary from one manufacturer and engine size to another, however customers generally see a range of between 200 to 500 rpm gains and as much as a 5 + miles per hour gain.
Q. Will this stop the smoking from my engine?
A. Yes, this is usually noticed after the first hour or so of running Blue Marble, and the time it takes is based upon how much carbon is built up in the engine that it has to remove.
Q. What is the absolute Cold Pour Point of Blue Marble?
A. Testing has shown that the absolute C.P.P. is -40 Fahrenheit.
